Today I turned over my "baby"! I started working with my client in January, did the piecing in February, set it aside for a while to work on other quilts, and then picked it back up for the quilting, binding, hanging sleeve and embroidered label in June. Here are a few pictures. The pattern is an adaptation of "Sister's Choice" designed by Bethany Fuller. We selected a variety of Windham Fabric from the Addison and More Pink and Chocolate Collections at The Patchwork Company in Windham NY. A great shop and definitely worth the trip! Tell Fran I sent you!

Here are a few pictures of a cute baby quilt I was commissioned to make. The pattern is a bit of a hybrid - I used the Royal Critters pattern designed by Bethany Fuller, and then added two of my original applique designs to get the look the customer wanted. The fabrics were made by Windham Fabrics and purchased at The Patchwork Company in Windham NY. Do check them out the next time you are looking for wonderful quality fabric for your next project! The giraffe and lion are my designs. I created monkey quilting designs that were used in the patchwork blocks and border cornerstones. A fun project! I still smile when I look at the pictures of this happy baby quilt! |
AuthorHi! My name is Laurie Collins. I've been quilting for about 25 years - which means I must have started when I was four since I only admit to being 29! I'm a longarm quilter - trying to make the world prettier one quilt at a time! Archives
