I love how you did the feathering on the solid blocks, and the straight stitching on the center and outside stars - just perfect. Turned into a Beautiful Masterpiece
The machine quilting and finish work that Laurie Collins does is amazing. She finished my heirloom “Civil War” sampler queen-size quilt with borders, batting, backing and, of course, the machine quilting. It was a very special quilt to me as I had worked on it for many years and my plan is to hand it down to my son. We discussed the many options available and then I left it to her expertise. When I arrived to pick up the completed quilt, I almost didn’t recognize it. The quilt had turned into a beautiful masterpiece. Not only had she used perfect fabrics that complimented the original quilt top, but she had made each block speak with its own unique machine quilting. Each block was accented differently. The overall affect is outstanding. Now, I am even more proud of handing down this quilt – not only of my efforts with the blocks but of the professional finishing that Laurie provided.
