A few of my customer quilts that picked up ribbons! Congratulations to Carolyn Ziehm! Her quilt won Best Applique Traditional, Best Machine Quilting, and First Place! Carolyn Ziehm's ASO (Albany Symphony Orchestra) Fundraising quilt won First Place! Pat Cunningham's quilt won another ribbon (also won in the Autumn Inspiration show in Schenectady Oct. 2012) I picked a few ribbons as well! This is a picture of the Vanguard Albany Symphony Orchestra fund raising quilt I quilted. You can see it at our local QUILT Show today - and look for raffle tickets for sale at one of the booths outside the show. Once again - the show is at the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd. Albany, NY 12208 from 10am to 4:30pm TODAY!!!!!!!! Today is the last day of our local Quilt Show, and your last chance to buy some raffle tickets for this quilt! So, get over to the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church at 440 Whitehall Rd., Albany NY 12208 and buy your tickets before the drawing at 4pm this afternoon! And check out all the gorgeous quilts while you are there. I volunteered to help at the judging Wednesday, and saw some beautiful quilts, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed. But you will be disappointed if you miss out on your last chance to get those raffle tickets! The show hours are 10am - 4:30 pm - don't be late! A few photos from MQX East (Machine Quilters Expo). Excellent classes, great quilts for inspiration, and wonderful vendors. MQX West will be in Portland OR in Oct. 2013 and MQX East will be in Manchester NH in April 2014. Be sure to catch at least one of them! Here is a picture of Cathy Wiggins leading her "Why Quilts Win" - a private tour of the winning quilts and Cathy's commentary as to why a particular quilt won a ribbon while others did not. If you get a chance to take her tour DO IT! We are standing in front of Cathy's Fairy quilt. Can you ever have too much thread? Eye candy at the Superior Thread booth. A close up of Lisa Calle's award winning quilt - stunning! I've been published - well, not me really, but a picture of my quilt was published in the New Hampshire ToDo Magazine. This came as a total surprise! Here's a copy of the email from Janet-Lee Santeusanio of MQX, with the link to the online version of the article. My quilt - Hawiian Dawn is pictured on the last page!

AuthorHi! My name is Laurie Collins. I've been quilting for about 25 years - which means I must have started when I was four since I only admit to being 29! I'm a longarm quilter - trying to make the world prettier one quilt at a time! Archives
